I have increased savings by $38.46 already this month! I only budgeted $20 to go to savings this month, so I am currently ahead. I will probably be able to put another $100 or so to savings at the end of the month. My cash flow projects I'll have that much or a little more leftover, but I don't like to run my account super low, so I won't transfer it over until just before my April 1 payday.
It is not reflected in the budget above, but when I paid my March mortgage payment, I paid $372.15 toward my escrow shortage. For more explanation on the shortage, see here. After spending over an hour trying to get a customer service rep on the phone, I finally got my adjusted payment figured out. Thanks to my partial shortage payment, starting April 1, my monthly mortgage payment will be $852.28. I am hoping to pay more of the escrow shortage when my tax refund (hopefully) comes, so I can my monthly payment down to $825ish. We'll just have to see what my taxes look like when they are finished...
What are you plans for your tax refund? I'd love to hear about them :)
